Great Result in Boise County
August 2019
Case Type: Inattentive/Careless Driving
Jurisdiction: Boise County
We recently had a great result in Boise County. Our client was originally charged with inattentive driving--a misdemeanor that comes with a fine of up to $300 and/or 90 days in jail. Inattentive driving is not a traffic ticket, it is a crime defined as "operating a motor vehicle in a careless or imprudent manner." This charge would have had a detrimental impact on our client because he drove logging trucks for a living. A conviction could have resulted in increased liability insurance rates for his employer, which put his job at risk. In the end, we were able to convince the prosecutor to amend the charge to a simple driving infraction. This came with a minimal fine, no jail time, allowed our client to keep his job and continue through life with a criminal-free record.
If you have been arrested, charged, or cited for inattentive driving, it is important that you understand the charges against you and what your legal rights are.
